ADVANCED SOLAR CONCEPTS

Explore beyond
conventional solar.

From new light-absorbing materials to integrated energy systems, the next generation of solar involves more than one technology. These concepts offer directions for exploration; readiness varies by material, product and application.

Light-guiding materials

Luminescent solar concentrators (LSC)

Luminescent materials absorb selected wavelengths and re-emit light, guiding a portion towards photovoltaic cells at the edges. This approach opens research possibilities for glazing and other light-collecting surfaces.

Key questions: optical losses, colour and transparency, material stability and useful energy output.

Complementary light absorption

Perovskite–silicon tandem cells

Stacked photovoltaic layers can absorb different parts of the solar spectrum. Tandem architectures explore how complementary materials could capture more of the available light within the same area.

Key questions: long-term durability, moisture protection, scalable manufacturing and responsible material handling.

Lightweight, adaptable surfaces

Organic & printed photovoltaics

Organic semiconductors and printable device layers offer routes to lightweight, flexible photovoltaics. Potential applications include selected building surfaces and low-power devices where weight and form matter.

Key questions: outdoor lifetime, encapsulation, conversion efficiency and repeatable production quality.

Managing the spectrum

Quantum-dot & spectral-conversion materials

Nanoscale materials and wavelength-conversion layers offer ways to tune how light is absorbed or re-emitted. Research explores their role in photovoltaic devices and light-management coatings.

Key questions: conversion losses, material toxicity, stability and compatibility with complete solar devices.

Solar beyond conventional modules

Advanced thin-film & semi-transparent PV

Thin active layers and carefully designed transparent regions can support solar integration into façades, glazing and lightweight structures. Different material systems balance appearance, weight and electricity generation.

Key questions: transparency versus output, building safety, weather resistance and product-specific readiness.

Electricity and useful heat

Hybrid photovoltaic–thermal systems

Hybrid collectors combine photovoltaic generation with heat recovery. Where a site needs both electricity and heat, this approach can be evaluated as an integrated energy system rather than a standalone panel choice.

Key questions: matching heat demand and temperature, thermal management, maintenance and whole-system economics.

PURPOSE-LED DEVELOPMENT

Lower cost.
Meaningful effectiveness.

At Suntara Solar, we are working with experts to develop low-cost yet effective solar solutions. Our aim is to bring practical engineering and new ideas together, with attention to affordability, reliability and real-world use.

Development means asking the right questions about materials, manufacturing, integration and lifecycle costs—not only performance in isolation.

Our technology development

We have also actively worked on technology that is currently under patent. Technical details are not disclosed here.

From concept to practical application

Each proposed solution needs appropriate testing, safety review and application-specific evaluation before claims about cost, performance or commercial availability can be made.

AN OPEN INVITATION
